Pronounce Hsu?

Okay, I know most of you aren’t here for my photography. In fact, I’m not even sure how you got here so here’s what you’re looking for:

That’s it. That’s how you pronounce Hsu and/or Xu (depending on where you’re from). You want more details? I’m the furthest thing from a linguist but here’s the best I can come up with:

A phonetic translation nightmare.

Shue? Shu? Xeu? Chau? Shoe?! Shoo?? Zahoo??? The last one is a real attempt said out loud to a room full of people by some poor sap from HR. But yeah, my feelings are dead so pick the one you like best as I don’t mind one bit.

If you’re one of those people that want to try to say it right and English is your first language, I’ve got bad news for you: Because you’ve spent your entire life physically adapting to English, you’ll have a hard time hearing the tonal fluxuations that’s required to sound it out let alone actually saying it right. “Sue” is what I’ve settled on telling people because it’s what Americans are best known for and I’m doing my best to pretend to be a red-blooded, cola-drinking capitalist of freedom or whatever.

What IS “Pronounce Hsu”?

This brand (ugh, ew) is my attempt to break into a career of photography and documenting whatever else I feel like writing about for the uncertain amount of time I have left on this god-forsaken rock.

Food, culture, cosplay, cycling, travel, etc. will all be exposed to my ignorance and willingness to make an fool of myself in the name of knowledge and/or good fun.

There’s gonna be a youtube channel.

There’s already a Threads account.

There will also be a whole page dedicated to recipes because eating is awesome and cooking great eats is even more awesome-er.

But yeah, thanks for stopping by. I hope you get the chance to look at some of my work and maybe even book a shoot with me. Or not. I’m not the boss of you.
